Smart phones (and tips) cut dumb gas prices
Hey Lets Split it members, fed up with skyrocketing gas prices, are turning to our "buddy" system for help. (As well as us for helpful hints) One way www.heyletssplitit.com members help each other cut fuel costs is to reach out to their buddy contacts to carpool. They carpool to shop as well to their trips to work. And since "buddies" are centrally located it's easy. Use email, text, tweeting or the good old fashioned cell phone to contact each other and coordinate. It could be huge! Especially since there is no end with these ridiculous gas prices. Look for more tips to come from our blog Twitter and Facebook accounts. This one: Go to http://gasbuddy.com to find the lowest prices in your area. They have a mobile app as well.

Every day should be pancake day

I love breakfast. I love it so much, I often have it more than once a day. I enjoy a big smoothie before I go up the hill for my morning exercise. And then when I get back home, I could eat a horse. If horses were made of bacon.
Imagine my glee to see this article on Earthlink news this morning. I learned I was not alone!
"More please"
Still hungry? Have a 'second breakfast' http://my.earthlink.net/article/top?guid=20120228/5b430c55-e553-4e56-9087-d88152d8199c
Now, how do i find a companion to join me? Because pancakes are best eaten in pairs. Or trios. Three is never a crowd when it comes to pancakes.
I wish there was a place I could post a forum all about breakfast.
Wait, there is....
Right here on Hey Let's Split It.

Valentines: Dater or Hater?

For some of you it's a mad dash to the florist, after a quick prayer to the delivery gods that your accompanying cards not get switched and sent to the wrong girls like they were last year (I'm addressing this to a specific friend of mine). For others, it's a reason for cynicism. Just another dumb holiday invented by florists, candy makers, and Econolube (yup my dad gets my mom's oil changed for V-day) to hawk their wares.
But for those incurable romantics, those hot hot hot singles who somehow manage to remain unattached, here's a few ideas to make this Valentine's Day special.
Singles: Love can pop up in the most unexpected places. While pouring water over a whale while waiting for high tide so you can send it back to sea. Or discovering someone else who ADORES the chicken chili chorizo at the warehouse store....the chorizo you don't buy because it's four lbs worth, for heaven's sake, and who can eat all that? But you would buy it, if you only had someone to split it with. Or maybe you just want to sample the goodies on tap at my favorite sweet shop, The Village Bakery (http://thevillagebakeryandcafe.com). If only there were a website where could you find a fellow whale rescuer; and a fellow sausage lover; and a fellow denizen of the Village Bakery. Look no further. Just go to www.heyletssplitit.com.
Take our Buddy Quiz.
Find people like you and make a plan to meet up.
We'll turn a Valentine Hater into a Valentine Dater. Or at least you'll have a freezer only half-full of chorizo.

OK, it's official, fried food is once again our best-est friend!
So strap on your "I hate the SS food police." feed bag a load up on crispy fried chicken, delicate fish and chips and the oh so rewarding"Mayor Bloomberg's nightmare French Fries."
A new study has found that there is no direct correlation between the amount of fried food people eat and their risk of heart disease.
Next up, chocolate infusions and Twinky aspirin.

Holidating

Tis the season to be...okay probably none of us wishes to be described as "jolly." Except maybe you,
Santa. And BTW, you still owe me for that "Visible Man" educational gift you delivered back in the 70's.

But I digress. I get invited to an absolute slew of holiday get togethers. I make Christmas cookies. I bake latkes. I drink from the kikombe cha umoja. It's all great fun. But it's even more fun to share with a new friend.

Which is why I have glommed onto a suggestion given to me by a former beau of Dough: That maybe HLSI is the perfect place to find that perfect holidate.

It's easy.

*You sign up for a Player Membership.
*You take the shopping buddy quiz, which matches you with people of similar likes, interests, and taste.
*You make a safe plan to meet up with your new buddy. To Shop. To Swap. To sing a carol or two.

Remember that by signing up as a premium "Player" member, you are entered to win a 42" LG HDTV. Just click on www.heyletssplitit.com (click on the Sweepstakes banner and good luck to you my friend)

Hey Let's Split it launches. Create the New Economy

We here at Hey Let's Split it are as proud as a peacock at a NBC sitcom reunion to announce a new concept on the Internet; a chance to create your own Economy. Members hook up with "buddies" within their zip and then barter, borrow, split bulk buys and give back to their local communities. Using "strength in numbers" to improve the situation on the ground more than they ever could on their own.

And if that isn't enough to tear you away from yet another episode of "Mega Disasters" on the History Channel then sign up for our 42" LG HDTV giveaway. www.heyletssplitit.com (click on the Sweepstakes banner and good luck to you my friend)
